AICC 2.0: embedded vision for networked production
A smart handheld measuring device for detecting and classifying faults, ready to be integrated into networked production. Image acquisition, evaluation and result display in a single mobile device.
Small batches, complex parts
The interchangeable acquisition head makes it straightforward to extend the device to other material surfaces and to customer-specific applications.

How it is built
The AICC 2.0 handheld device consists of two components: an acquisition unit and a computing unit. The acquisition unit contains an integrated camera with fixed optics and an illumination assembly. Its modular hardware architecture makes it possible to develop specific acquisition units for a wide range of measuring tasks and workpieces. A quick-change mechanism then adapts the device to the inspection task at hand with little effort.
The computing unit is made up of an embedded board, a battery and a touchscreen. The mobile AICC 2.0 captures damage on components semi-automatically and with minimal effort, which makes it particularly suitable for complex parts in small and medium batches.
The device is integrated into networked production through a local server and a cloud-based one. By creating interfaces to machine tools and components, and by developing and implementing self-learning algorithms, process control and quality control gain in transparency, reproducibility and documentation of the measurement results.

Our handheld device has drawn considerable interest from the international trade press and from camera manufacturers.
Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research
This forward-looking project was developed with funding from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The AICC 2.0 opens the door to digitalised quality assurance in manufacturing, particularly for smaller companies.
Free and without obligation
Send us your inspection task. We will tell you whether it can be solved.
A specification, a defect catalogue, samples or images are enough. In a first free feasibility assessment we evaluate the task, settle the open questions and plan the next steps with you.
Consulting, training and support are part of the deal.
